Quest

The quests in both Hamlet and The lion king both commence in the same manner yet their conclusions are vastly different. Both of these conflicts are brought upon by a villainous Uncle who desires power and it is the prince who is left in turmoil. Although the plot line does stray course in the case of Simbas self banishment as opposed to Hamlets constant observation of his Claudius. Yet both Simba and Hamlet both face inner turmoil over whether they should come to grips and act on their situation. They each need the push of an external source in order to fortify their resolve Simba has Nala while Hamlet has an encounter with Fortenbras. Naturally the ending of the lion king is not as bittersweet as that of Hamlet (keeping in Disneys target a audience) yet it is true that both plots are resolved with the death of the traitorous uncle. Both the lion king and hamlet follow similar paths in their respective plot development yet it is how the characters react to stress and situations which create the minor changes in the quest.
