Conflicts

In Hamlet, the uncle kills the father, showing a struggle between man and man. This is also shown with Hamlet devising a way to kill his uncle, his uncle planning to kill him, and the war between Poland and Switzerland. With the uncle killing the father, this shows one man coveting the others prestige and class of the other and willing to kill him for it. Hamlet also shows this when he gains the courage to kill his uncle to get revenge for the death of his father. The uncle also shows another conflict when he decides to kill Hamlet to defend his new found title. The war going on between Poland and Switzerland shows man against man with the war between the two nations for land.

First Conflict:

In Lion King this conflict is shown with Scar v. Mufasa, lions v. Hyenas, simba v. Scar. The same conflict is shown with Scar and Mufasa with scar's jealousy towards Mufasa's throne and brings about the death of Mufasa. Simba and Scar have a similar conflict as Hamlet and his uncle as Scar wants to dispose of Simba and Simba desires to get revenge on Scar. The battle between hyenas and lions also shows the battle over territory between factions similar to Poland and Switzerland.

Second Conflict:

Third Conflict:

In Hamlet, there is inner turmoil over if Hamlet should get revenge for his late father or not.  Although he is asked to, and knows that his uncle killed his father, Hamlet is reluctant to kill his uncle. This reluctance brought about the end of Hamlet's life since he was too slow to act.

Fourth Conflict:

In Lion King, there is turmoil with Simba feeling responsible for fathers death. He flees from the kingdom believing that his dad is dead due to his actions. He finally comes to reason when he sees his father's spirit and decides to return to the animal kingdom and fights Scar for the throne. However, there was a long span of time where Simba denounced his right to the throne and fled since he felt grief over the death of his father.
